Otter Mercator brass with clip
The Mercator and OTTER knife, these two terms are closely related. Now there is also a knife that shows this connection. The Otter company has reissued the Mercator in its historical form. Instead of the classic black steel case, the handle is now made of brass. It has a frosted finish that creates an elegant appearance. A rustproof clip has been added to this model: so you always have your Mercator at hand quickly – whether it's from your pocket, belt or backpack.
Simple, functional and robust - the Mercator knife has offered these advantages for over 100 years. Today it is used all over the world and stands out in everyday life with its slim, indestructible design.
OTTER – Hot quality from Solingen since 1840
The Otter company was founded around 1840 in a small Kotten - a traditional water-powered grinding shop - at the Königsmühle in Solingen. Their name comes from the fish otters who lived on the banks of streams and rivers in the Bergisches Land at that time. These adorn the products as the company's logo. The pocket knives and knives with fixed blades are made in the traditional way in Solingen. Even today, the pocket and fixed knives are carefully handcrafted and sharpened. The range consists of knives for leisure, household, garden and hunting. Mostly equipped with carbon blades, these have an excellent edge retention and are evidence of robust quality - Made in Solingen / Germany.

For me the most beautiful Mercator knife (apart from the large Multi, which is heavy). Valuable, with culture and history, hardly noticeable, practical, with fine carbon steel, upgraded with a clip (even if I don't need it), always in a pouch in the front right of my trouser pocket, I enjoy it every day. And the more often I use it and the more patina it gets, the more beautiful it becomes. That's the way it has to be 🙂

Great knife! It is compact, light and handy. A pocket knife in the truest sense of the word. It can also be led.
The blade position is impeccable and the blade has no play, either horizontally or vertically. ?
