Sharpening voucher
With the purchase of this knife, we give you a voucher card for professional re-sharpening free of charge.
Even the best knives lose their sharpness over time, despite optimal use and storage. If the process has progressed too far, sharpening with a sharpening steel is no longer sufficient. With our sharpening voucher, we give you the opportunity to let your knife shine in new splendor. Your knife will be sharpened at the Wasserkraft Manufaktur in Solingen Wipperkotten. All further information can be found on the voucher card.
Güde bread knife briar
The handmade bread knife comes from the Güde Bruyere knife series. The Busse Loglife Design Award has been presented every 3 years since 1978. This year the Güde Alpha series can be adorned with this coveted award. The award honors particularly long-lasting, sustainable and economical products and thus sets an example against an excess and throw-away society.
The Bruyere special edition knife is handcrafted in over forty manual steps. This creates a high-quality cutting knife for bread and rolls that is used in gastronomy as well as in private households.
With a blade length of 32 cm, the bread knife cuts all types of bread of all sizes. Even rustic breadcrusts can be cut into even, representative slices with this knife. The knife including the handle has a total length of 45 cm. The blade is continuously connected to the tang. With a weight of 380 g it lies securely and easily in the hand and helps the user to achieve a clean cutting result. The bread knife has the typical serrated edge on one side. This preserves the cutting ability of the knife and facilitates the clean cutting work.
The hand-forged bread knife from Güde has a blade hardness of 56 HRC. Accordingly, a simple regrinding is possible without the material suffering as a result. The one-piece blade of the knife is made of X50CrMoV15 steel. The mixture of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum is mainly used by the Güde company for the production of high-quality knives. This means that the blade has an optimal level of corrosion resistance, i.e. it is rust-free. The blade steel is ice-hardened after processing. As a result, the knife remains as sharp as when used for the first time, even after repeated use.
