With our sharpening voucher, we give you the opportunity to let your knife shine in new splendor. Your knife will be sharpened at the Wasserkraft Manufaktur in Solingen Wipperkotten. All further information can be found on the voucher card.
Walnut wood meets traditional blacksmithing - the Güde Alpha walnut bread knife
The handmade bread knife comes from the Güde Alpha Walnut knife series. The combination of the beautifully grained wood and the traditional blacksmithing make this bread knife unique. The wood of the handle comes from walnut wood, which is very hard, firm and very popular due to its pronounced grain. The bread knife is made by the Solingen knife manufacturer Güde according to traditional craftsmanship. The knife from the Alpha Walnut series is handcrafted in over forty manual steps. This creates a high-quality cutting knife for bread and rolls that is used in gastronomy as well as in private households.
With a blade length of 32 cm, the bread knife cuts all types of bread of all sizes. Even rustic breadcrusts can be cut into even, representative slices with this knife. The knife including the handle has a total length of 45 cm. The blade is continuously connected to the tang. With a weight of 380 g it lies securely and easily in the hand and helps the user to achieve a clean cutting result. The bread knife has the typical serrated edge on one side. This preserves the cutting ability of the knife and facilitates the clean cutting work.
The hand-forged bread knife from Güde has a blade hardness of 56 HRC. Accordingly, a simple regrinding is possible without the material suffering as a result. The one-piece blade of the knife is made of X50CrMoV15 steel. The mixture of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum is mainly used by the Güde company for the production of high-quality knives. This means that the blade has an optimal level of corrosion resistance, i.e. it is rust-free. The blade steel is ice-hardened after processing. As a result, the knife remains as sharp as when used for the first time, even after repeated use.
Güde Alpha Walnut Series:
The knife blades from the walnut series are hand-forged and consist of a piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. The knives are further processed in over 40 manual operations. The handle scales are made of walnut wood, which is very hard, firm and very popular due to its pronounced grain. The blade is rust-free, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened - the handle is not dishwasher-safe.
Company GÜDE Solingen:
