Noble wood meets traditional blacksmithing - the Güde Alpha barrel oak herb knife Shark
The handcrafted herb knife comes from the Güde Alpha Fasseiche knife series, which was developed in collaboration between Güde and the star chef Harald Rüssel. The combination of fine wood and traditional blacksmithing make this kitchen knife unique. The wood of the handle comes from oak wine barrels that are over 80 years old - the so-called Fuder barrel wood. Due to the long period of ripening, the oak wood used is considered to be almost indestructible and extremely robust. The Güde Herbal Knife Shark from the Alpha Barrel Oak series is a real eye-catcher. The special shape of the blade reminds you of a shark's head. Therefore this knife has earned the name Herbal Knife Shark. It is particularly suitable for weighing herbs, chopping nuts, seeds or other items to be cut. The hand-forged blade made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel is made from one piece, ice-hardened rust-free and hand-sharpened. The herb knife Shark by Güde has a blade hardness of 56 HRC. Accordingly, a simple regrinding is possible without the material suffering as a result. The mixture of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum is mainly used by the Güde company for the production of high-quality knives. This means that the blade has an optimal level of corrosion resistance, i.e. it is rust-free. The blade steel is ice-hardened after processing. As a result, the knife remains as sharp as when used for the first time, even after repeated use.
Güde Alpha barrel oak series:
In cooperation with star chef Harald Rüssel, whose gourmet restaurant and Hotel Landhaus St. Urban is located in a side valley of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine-growing region, Güde created this series - not only - for wine lovers and cooking enthusiasts. One-piece hand-forged blade made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. Further processing in over 40 manual operations. The handle shells are made of oak wood over 80 years old, which has become almost indestructible due to the long maturation. The blade is rust-free, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened - the handle is not dishwasher-safe.
