The professional results of the CHROMA Type 301 series have been officially confirmed by the Swedish test institute Test Fakta, comparable to the Stiftung Warentest in Germany. In 2011, the institute chose the P-18 chef's knife as the clear test winner. The knife scored particularly well with the experts in the categories edge retention, sharpness and susceptibility to rust. The LifeCare initiative also awarded the 301 series knives the 2012 Kitchen Innovation prize. The design has also received numerous awards, including the iF Design Award 2005.

Together with the chef of the decade, Jörg Wörther, Ferdinand A. Porsche – the designer of the 911 sports car – developed the knives in this series. Numerous professionals such as three-star chefs Klaus Erfort or Harald Wohlfahrt or TV chefs such as Ralf Zacherl and Frank Rosin have been working with type 301 knives for years. The handle is made of stainless steel, the blade is made of high-quality Japanese 301 Pure stainless steel BladeSteel. Due to the V-grinding of the blade, the knives of the type 301 series are particularly sharp, edge-holding and easy to sharpen.
