Kaiser Wilhelm Messer the Otter Mercator
The Otter Mercator knife is a traditional German pocket knife. It has been popular for over 100 years. Even though it wasn't designed as an army knife, it quickly found favor with Kaiser Wilhelm's army. The name "Kaiser Wilhelm Messer" also comes from this period. Today it is used all over the world and distinguishes itself in everyday life with its narrow, indestructible design. The classic, black Mercator has a powder-coated handle. In all models of this type, the blade is locked with a backlock.
With the blade of the Mercator optionally made of carbon steel or stainless steel, it is a great utility knife that stays sharp for a long time and can be easily re-sharpened.
This knife is also the large, lockable shape of the Otter Mercator.

Otter – Hot quality from Solingen since 1840
The Otter company was founded in 1840 in a small Kotten - a traditional water-powered grinding shop - at the Königsmühle in Solingen. Their name comes from the fish otters who lived on the banks of the streams and rivers in the Bergisches Land at that time. Because these adorn the products as the company's logo. The pocket knives and knives with fixed blades are traditionally built in Solingen manufactured. Even today, the pocket and fixed knives are carefully handcrafted and sharpened. The range therefore consists of knives for leisure, household, garden and hunting. Hab ich ewig gesucht. Hatte schon mein Großvater im WKII. Sehr flach und trotzdem führig. Scharf wie ein Rasiermesser. Sehr gutes EDC- Messer, kann ich nur empfehlen.

Das Messer ansich ist super (Design, Stahl, Geschichte). Für das Messer ansich theoretisch 5 Sterne. Nur ist es aus, so wie ich es bekam sehr schwergängig und es muss unbedingt nachgeschliffen werden, damit es wirklich scharf ist. Das ist wiederum nicht gut.
Aber ansonsten ein grandioses Messer.
