With our sharpening voucher, we give you the opportunity to let your knife shine in new splendor. Your knife will be sharpened at the Wasserkraft Manufaktur in Solingen Wipperkotten. All further information can be found on the voucher card.

THE KNIFE Damascus steel

stands out due to its unusual design and you can already guess that this knife is different from ordinary chef's knives. It has an extraordinary appearance, as the strikingly large blade is combined with a relatively short handle. In a truly masterful way, Güde THE KNIFE Damascus steel fuses progress with tradition. The back of the knife is very wide, as can only be achieved with forged knives. This very special knife has already won many awards. For example the German Design Award Special in 2016.
THE KNIFE Damascus steel is a real masterpiece, which you notice immediately when you pick it up and start using it. Its handling is so perfectly balanced that everyone can hold the knife as master chefs are used to. Because the center of gravity of this knife is on the inside of the hand, you can work with it without getting tired. The middle finger rests in a recess at the end of the blade when you grasp it. The flowing transitions automatically create the correct grip position and a comfortable ergonomic hand rest that does not get in the way of any transitions. THE KNIFE Damascus steel is over 30 cm long, the handle length is 9 cm and the weight 381 grams. The blade is made of Damascus steel and is made from several different layers of high-alloy tool steel using the "composite fire welding process" at 1200 ° C. In total, more than 300 layers are connected to one another, creating a hard but elastic steel. The symmetrically shaped handle of the knife is made of noble grenadilla wood, which is one of the heaviest woods of all. Grenadilla wood has a natural dark brown to black color which creates a great contrast to the steel of the blade.
The quality and masterful workmanship remain hidden from anyone who has used this knife in the kitchen and was able to convince himself of the advantages. Put this to the test and test this excellent product from Güde! You will never want to do without it again and you will prefer it to all other knives in your kitchen.

Güde THE KNIFE series:

At first glance it becomes clear that THE KNIFE. has relatively little to do with a conventional chef's knife. The supposedly short handle and the conspicuously large blade with the very broad back - only possible in this way with a forged knife - make you think of a design object.

But once you've worked with THE KNIFE, you know that it's not just about breathtaking beauty, but above all about unique handling. Just like a professional chef holds a chef's knife, THE KNIFE is held automatically. The thumb and forefinger form a U and securely encircle the blade. The middle finger is conveniently “parked” in the finely crafted indentation at the end of the blade. The center of gravity lies perfectly inside the hand and ensures fatigue-free work.
No transition disturbs, all lines are flowing. This automatically guarantees the correct grip position and a comfortable hand rest.

Company GÜDE Solingen:

Manufacturing forged knives of the highest quality and small numbers by hand was, is and remains the philosophy of the company - for four generations and without any compromises. The company GÜDE feels committed to the centuries-old art of knife making, which established the reputation of the city of Solingen.
