Noble wood meets traditional blacksmithing - the Güde Alpha barrel oak Santoku knife
The handmade Santoku knife comes from the Güde Alpha Fasseiche knife series, which was developed in collaboration between Güde and the star chef Harald Rüssel. The combination of fine wood and traditional blacksmithing make this kitchen knife unique. The wood of the handle comes from oak wine barrels that are over 80 years old - the so-called Fuder barrel wood. Due to the long period of ripening, the oak wood used is considered to be almost indestructible and extremely robust. The Japanese among the Solingen knives. The term “Santoku” comes from Japanese and stands for the typical Japanese blade shape. The Güde Santoku knife from the Alpha Fasseiche series is perfect for fine and precise cutting work in the kitchen. The 18 cm long blade easily portioned meat, fish and vegetables. The hollow cut prevents thin and soft discs from sticking. The hand-forged blade made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel is made from one piece, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened.
Güde Alpha barrel oak series:
In cooperation with star chef Harald Rüssel, whose gourmet restaurant and Hotel Landhaus St. Urban is located in a side valley of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine-growing region, Güde created this series - not only - for wine lovers and cooking enthusiasts. One-piece hand-forged blade made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. Further processing in over 40 manual operations. The handle shells are made of oak wood over 80 years old, which has become almost indestructible due to the long maturation. The blade is rust-free, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened - the handle is not dishwasher-safe.
