The combination of fine wood and traditional blacksmithing make the kitchen knives in this set unique. The wood of the handles comes from oak wine barrels that are over 80 years old - the so-called Fuder barrel wood. Due to the long period of ripening, the oak wood used is considered to be almost indestructible and extremely robust.

Large fruits such as melons or pumpkins are also no problem for this knife. True to the motto “Bread needs to be sawn, not crushed”.
The blade Güde boning knife is perfect for cutting meat and poultry. The flexible blade makes it easy to remove bones and skins with this knife. The flexible blade nestles perfectly around the food to be cut. Tendons and fat are just as easy to remove.
The Güde paring knife is the perfect knife for a lot of prep work in the kitchen. The blade of this paring knife peels, cuts and cleans vegetables, fruits and herbs.
The hand-forged blades made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel are made from one piece, ice-hardened rust-free and hand-sharpened. All knives in this set from Güde have a blade hardness of 56 HRC. Accordingly, a simple regrinding is possible without the material suffering as a result. The mixture of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum is mainly used by the Güde company for the production of high-quality knives. This means that the blade has an optimal level of corrosion resistance, i.e. it is rust-free. The blade steel is ice-hardened after processing. As a result, the knives remain as sharp as when they were used for the first time, even after repeated use.
Güde Alpha barrel oak series:
Together with Harald Rüssel, the star chef whose gourmet restaurant and Hotel Landhaus St. Urban is located in a side valley of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine-growing region, Güde created this knife series. A series that is not only suitable for wine lovers and cooking enthusiasts. The blade is forged by hand from a piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel and further processed in 40 manual steps. The handle scales are made of oak wood from 80 year old wine barrels, which have gained a high degree of robustness due to the long storage. The blade is rust-free, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened. The handle is not suitable for the dishwasher.
