Description
The Hippekniep is a simple and robust pocket knife. The sometimes brutal use caused play on the blade in the classic predecessor models. Then a stable solution was developed: the iron pin, which holds the blade in position, was replaced by a pin with a large round head and reinforced with a wide brass ring. If necessary, the rivet could be looked up if the stress caused play on the blade. The beautiful handles made of smoked oak give the traditional Hippekniep a modern flair.
OTTER:
Around 1840, the Otter knife company was founded in Solingen in a small Kotten, a traditional water-powered grinding shop. At that time, many otters lived on the nearby streams and rivers, these were the model for the name of the brand otter and still decorate the knives as a logo.
The Otter pocket knives and knives are carefully handcrafted and sharpened. In the production process, the established tradition, which has produced many high-quality Solingen knives, is still adhered to today. The range of knife company Otter includes leisure knives, garden knives, household knives and hunting knives. A large part of the blades are made of carbon and therefore have excellent edge retention and robustness.

Just like Marcel says: I have this knife in my pocket every day. The handle feels wonderfully soft in the hand. Its size and sharpness are just right for all areas of everyday life: cutting twigs or cakes, screwing in a screw or opening the packaging. A little sanding and oil every now and then and it never lets you down. When, despite all my caution, I lost it, I wanted to get by with an Opinell pocket knife, at least until Christmas. I couldn't stand it, so I bought it again in October.
