The Hippekniep (goat knife) is a simple and robust pocket knife. The knife blade of the Otter Hippekniep is made of non-rustproof carbon steel, blue-peened by hand and finely forged from the base to the knife tip. It used to be used when herding goats to cut the hooves in the event of injuries. Hip means goat and Kniep means collapse. Today, the Otter Hippekniep is often used on the go for pitting or peeling vegetables or fruit and for cutting cheese or sausage.
