Sharpening voucher
With the purchase of the Güde Alpha barrel oak chef's knife 26 cm, we give you a free voucher for professional sharpening.
Even the best knives lose their sharpness over time, despite optimal use and storage. If the process has progressed too far, sharpening with a sharpening steel is no longer sufficient. With our sharpening voucher, we give you the opportunity to let your knife shine in new splendor. Your knife will be sharpened at the Wasserkraft Manufaktur in Solingen Wipperkotten. All further information can be found on the voucher card.
Noble wood meets traditional blacksmithing - the Güde Alpha barrel oak chef's knife
The handmade chef's knife comes from the Güde Alpha Fasseiche knife series, which was developed in collaboration between Güde and the star chef Harald Rüssel. The combination of fine wood and traditional blacksmithing make this kitchen knife unique. The wood of the handle comes from oak wine barrels that are over 80 years old - the so-called Fuder barrel wood. Due to the long period of ripening, the oak wood used is considered to be almost indestructible and extremely robust. The wide blade of the kitchen knife has a length of 16-26 cm, making it a true all-rounder in the kitchen. It not only masters simple cutting work, but also chopping and cleaning work. Furthermore, the blade of the knife consists of a piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum stainless knife steel and is sharpened by hand. The high-quality refinement of the Güde Alpha barrel oak kitchen knife is completed by hand in 40 work steps and thus guarantees the highest quality cutlery from Solingen! Güde kitchen knives with a wooden handle should never be put in the dishwasher. The refined handle could suffer lasting damage as a result.
In our shop you can choose between a blade length of 16, 21 and 26 cm.
Güde Alpha barrel oak series:
In cooperation with star chef Harald Rüssel, whose gourmet restaurant and Hotel Landhaus St. Urban is located in a side valley of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine-growing region, Güde created this series - not only - for wine lovers and cooking enthusiasts. One-piece hand-forged blade made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. Further processing in over 40 manual operations. The handle shells are made of oak wood over 80 years old, which has become almost indestructible due to the long maturation. The blade is rust-free, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened - the handle is not dishwasher-safe.
