Güde Alpha Chai Dao
The name “Chai Dao” stands for a Chinese chef's knife with the shape of a cleaver that is typical for these knives. The Güde chef's knife Chai Dao item no. 1742/16 from the Alpha series is very elegant for a typical cleaver. It is perfect for chopping meat, fish and vegetables. Larger pieces of meat are also no problem for this knife. The hand-forged, 16 cm long blade made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel is made from one piece, ice-hardened rust-free and hand-sharpened. The chef's knife Chai Dao by Güde has a blade hardness of 56 HRC. Accordingly, a simple regrinding is possible without the material suffering as a result. The mixture of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum is mainly used by the Güde company for the production of high-quality knives. This means that the blade has an optimal level of corrosion resistance, i.e. it is rust-free. The blade steel is ice-hardened after processing. As a result, the knife remains as sharp as when used for the first time, even after repeated use. The knife handle is made of the special plastic Hostaform. This makes the handle permanently wear-resistant, robust and tough. Since the shaft is finely polished, the knife is also easy to maintain. However, due to the inclusion of stainless steel and aluminum rivets on the handle, the knife is not suitable for the dishwasher.
Güde Alpha series:
Güde Alpha series knives are handcrafted in over 30 operations. The blade with a continuous tang is forged by hand from a piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel, ice-hardened, is rust-free and hand-sharpened. The handle - made of robust and easy-care Hostaform - is finely polished. Chef's knives of the Güde Alpha series meet the guidelines for knives for use in gastronomy without exception. The Güde Alpha series is the Güde knife series with the greatest variety of models.
